PayPal is an excellent tool to use when setting up your online fundraiser on YouCaring. It’s important to your success to learn how to fundraise online using your PayPal account. PayPal provides donors with a low-cost, secure way to make their donations. PayPal allows donors to pay using a number of different credit cards, and they do not need to have a PayPal account to give money to your cause.
Here’s how to fundraise online with PayPal:
Set up Your PayPal Account
Setting up a PayPal account is straightforward and easy to do. Here’s how to set up a PayPal account for your fundraising campaign:
- Go to PayPal’s account setup page.
- Select the type of PayPal account you want to set up.
- Complete the signup process.
That’s all you need to do to set up your account on PayPal. It usually takes no more than 5 minutes. If you have any questions about the PayPal process, please contact PayPal directly.
Set up your Funding Online
Once you’ve created your PayPal account, you’ll need to attach it to your YouCaring campaign.
For those creating a new fundraiser, you’ll need to select PayPal as your payment processor during the fundraiser creation process.
For those with an existing account wanting to change their payment processor to PayPal, you’ll need to email us at [email protected] with “Change Donation Processor” in the subject line.
Don’t forget to include your fundraiser link!
Once we receive your email, we’ll follow up with instructions on how to make this change.
Please note: Your donations are non-transferable between donation processors and can only be accessed through the account with which they were originally made. For example: If you raised $50 with WePay as your payment processor and want to switch to PayPal, your $50 must be accessed in your WePay account as it will not transfer to PayPal. Once your account has been set up, all donations will be deposited directly into your PayPal account. It’s important to note that PayPal charges a third party credit card processing fee of which YouCaring receives nothing. These fees vary based upon your particular region and are charged to the recipient account as the donations are processed.
For more information regarding the fees charged in your region, please visit your country’s PayPal website.
