The Story

Blake and Rachel Cothron delivered what they believed to be a healthy baby boy on October 13, 2016. A special gift from the Father. On October 14, they learned that this was not the case.  Their son was born with a lethal heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries.  They will have extensive medical bills and other associated costs during the treatment of their son.  Most importantly, this is a request for prayer.  For we know the One that heals and Blake, Rachel and their son need much prayer!  Blessings to you all!

Fundraiser Updates

Blake and Rachel have requested that donations be stopped at this time.  They believe that all of Gideon's medical expenses will be covered so they do not want to take advantage of the generosity of people.  The funds that have been donated will be used for the extra expenses they have incurred for transportation to and from their farm to the hospital two hours away, food, and miscellaneous associated expenses.

There will also continued regular Dr./hospital visits after Gideon's release.  Those visits will be weekly at first.  He will also have additional surgeries.

Thank you to all that so kindly donated to help the Cothron family.  And a special thank you for the prayers that you have sent up, along with your continued prayers.

May the Father bless you all!

It truly appears that Gideon is receiving healing from the Father.  What a blessing for his parents and extended family.  Agreeing with Blake and Rachel in their prayers for their mighty little man.

“We just wanted to let you all know that Gideon continues to make progress. He's improving on his oral feeding, but we ask for your continued prayers for both him and me with this. Our hope is that he would take to nursing and if not, that he would take a bottle. Our prayer is that he would not need a permanent feeding tube. If he is able to feed well and gain weight, we might be going home in a week or two! We'll keep you posted.”

Late getting this posted.  This came through yesterday from Blake and Rachel:

"We are exceedingly happy to say that Gideon has done fantastically since coming off the breathing tube on Thursday!  He has since come off most of his meds and is now starting the long process of learning to feed and gain weight.  Please cont to pray for his digestion.  We are feeling encouraged but know that our journey is really just beginning."

Praise the Father for this wonderful news!!!
