A heartfelt message from Ben:
Hello, it's Ben here, would like to thank everyone on here for their donations. Totally heart broken by the death of Katy. These kind gifts will help me and the horses get back on our feet over the next few months. Again Can't Thank You Enough.
Ben Krista xxxxx
Dr. Katy Krista, a much loved veterinarian from Piedmont Equine Practice, was killed in a car accident on Route 50 near Middleburg, VA on January 5, 2018. Katy had just finished treating a horse at a client's farm when a vehicle entered her lane from the opposite direction and struck her SUV head-on. Katy died at the scene.
She left behind her beloved husband, Ben Krista, a local farrier who is also much loved by the equine community. Katy's tragic death turned Ben's world upside down, as he lost his soulmate and best friend. Ben and Katy had a beautiful marriage and were the truest of partners in everything they did. They shared an idyllic life with their animals on their farm in Bluemont, VA where they'd been working together to refurbish their historic farmhouse. Katy was Ben's world, and Ben was Katy's world. Ben is now left heartbroken.
Many friends and family have inquired about how they can help to ease Ben's financial burden, to allow him the time to grieve and find peace without feeling pressure from near-term financial obligations. This fund was organized by a few of Katy and Ben's friends for the sole purpose of minimizing the costs associated with Katy's sudden passing. All proceeds will go directly to Ben to assist him in covering expenses. Please share this link on your social network, as Ben and Katy's circle of friends and family spans the globe, and we'd like to give everyone an opportunity to support Ben in this most devastating time.
Thank you for your generous contribution.
