I am the mother of three beautiful children and the wife to one amazing man. On June 5, 2004 I gave birth to my very first child via cesarean after an induction. That birth caused me to begin the journey of becoming a doula. On October 12, 2008 I gave birth to my second child via cesarean after a planned home birth that ended in a hospital transfer. I continued to pursue my doula studies and gathered the courage to give birth once more. On December 16, 2011 I had the most empowering and healing VBA2C in a hospital thanks to some excellent midwives. In the following years I completed my doula certification and began to dream of being able to be actively involved in my local birthing community. My passion is to empower, educate and encourage women to trust their bodies and to trust birth. I am currently working as a birth assistant for a local CNM but I believe this is only the first step on my journey. My bigger dream is to one day become a homebirth midwife. I want to help the women in my community to have empowering births and in my heart I know that empowered women mean stronger families which mean better communities. In order to fulfill this passion and dream I need to enroll in school for midwifery education and training. As a one income family having the extra funds for my education is not possible. Instead of giving up on this dream I was encouraged to pursue it by trying to raise financial support from friends and family. No donation is too small or insignificant and I can assure you I will be so grateful for each dollar given. If I can raise half of this money by February 1, 2017 I can enroll in classes with Indie Birth School starting July 2017. If I do not raise what is needed by that deadline I have another midwifery school that I can pursue. I am confident that if this is something God wants me to do that He will make a way and I am excited to see how He will use me to serve other women in this capacity. Thank you for supporting my passion and dream!
** In the event that I do not raise the full amount needed for schooling, I will use any funds raised for individual classes, seminars, trainings and books all related to birth and midwifery.
