Home of 40+ children without parents, or whose parents can no longer support them, Becky’s Home, established in 2013, houses and cares for children ages 3-16. The current home has been such a success there is now a waitlist and thus the home can no longer efficiently meet the needs of all of the children. Their current situation is one room for all of the kids to sleep in which leads to highly contagious diseases such as ringworm, measles and colds. Thanks to grassroots fundraising efforts by owner Seth Asiedu, the new and improved home is almost complete for the children to move into. Here, the children will have their own bedrooms separated by gender with clean beds, working toilets, a big kitchen, a library, their own clinic and a fun room for the children to enjoy.
The benefits of this new home are endless. To start, this will protect them from illnesses like malaria and typhoid. In addition to health improvements, the new home will improve emotional health, safety and create a thriving living environment for this incredible community.
But, we need your help!!
We are now in need of furnishing the home with the things the kids need most, beds with real mattresses, mosquito nets, cubbies to call their own, chairs, tables, kitchen goods, indoor plumbing, water filters for drinking and other necessary improvements to enrich their lives. For example, having a water filter will almost entirely eradicate the prevalence of typhoid amongst the children. All donations will go directly to supporting these endeavors. With your help, these incredible children will have a nice clean bed to call their own.
