Beau is a very resilient Weim. He's survived pneumonia (from kennel cough) in a Utah shelter before coming to Pueblo, CO. His resilience and tenacity inspired a lot of people to help him on his journey to Mile High Weim Rescue (MHWR). Jenny P, his awesome foster Mom, took him in and immediately noticed he was having some digestive issues and instinctively knew something wasn't quite right.
Well, turns out he had a diaphragmatic hernia...his intestines and stomach would pass in and out of the space, often resting close to his heart. He was very sick for many days. The committee of amazing rescuers worked hard to find him a place to have the surgery - and a former MHWR adopter is a veterinarian at CSU Fort Collins Vet Hospital. We were able to get Beau his living saving surgery for $600! This expense, coupled with pre surgery xrays and diagnostic bloodwork, puts his expenses at $1,000.
We are happy to report that Beau survived the surgery and is recovering well at his foster home! Thank you to everyone who was involved in Beau's transport to/from Pueblo to CSU, and back again, as well as his awesome foster Momma!!
