The Bear Creek Byway is a nonprofit project to create a safer route to vital stores and services in rural Molalla, Oregon. The Byway's new bridge and multi-use path will allow pedestrians, wheelchair users and bicyclists to avoid highways 211 and 213, each with narrow shoulders and no sidewalks.
Hundreds of Oregon donors already have contributed nearly $40,000 in cash and materials. The bridge has been installed, and the path has been excavated and rocked. More funds are needed now to pave and finish the path to city standards before cold weather begins.
Your generous help will provide paving and other handicap-accessible features needed to permanently open the site to public use. Without your tax-deductible gift now, the path will remain closed through fall and winter, leaving moms with strollers, disabled seniors and other vulnerable travelers to risk their lives daily to get to the town's only grocery store.
