Baruch Maayan is a good friend and gifted Israeli artist. I want to help him fund the creation of a very meaningful bronze sculpture for a strategic position at the gates of Jerusalem! Will you join me? Here's the story in Baruch's words:
Story: "Lately I have been invited to exhibit 3 bronze sculpture pieces in the Mamilla mall in Jerusalem. This is a great opportunity as it is probably the most prestigious and widely visited display area in Israel, a beautifully arched walkway between the Jaffa Gate and the street with the King David Hotel. I have already presented one smaller bronze, and the curator of the exhibit has requested two life-size pieces from a record of past works. These are ‘Moses holding up the serpent in the wilderness’ and ‘The anointing of David”. The opportunity to display here is tremendous and the exposure is far greater, but I have to find the finance to produce the sculptures myself. I usually would only tackle such ambitious pieces if it were a commission wherein the client pays. This is purely an act of faith!
Project: The piece that I am producing right now is Moses and the Serpent (Numbers 21:4-8) In Hebrew it is called "רָאָה אֹתוֹ, וָחָי " which is translated "Look at him and live!". It speaks powerfully of healing and salvation for those who have been afflicted. This is a wonderful opportunity to display this work, with this message in such a special vantage point - the testimony in Jerusalem! The appeal is for help to finance the work and to get it into the Mamilla.
Incentive: There is an incentive for anyone who gives in excess of $3500, they will receive a smaller model (45cm) in bronze. Thank you."
