Posted on August 3, 2017Good morning, friends! Today is August 3rd, 2017 and we hope this update finds you well. I have attempted to write this update many times, but with the summer being so busy, it has taken a few tries to get it out to you.
As most of you know, we found out that we are having a baby BOY a few weeks ago. Yes, we are excited! If you didn't know, his name will be Ezra Perry. We chose Ezra for a few reasons: we love the name, and we also love Ezra in the old testament. He played a critical role in Israel's history to bring about the coming of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Our prayer for Ezra is that his life is one that leads people out of slavery and into freedom that is only found in Jesus. His story thus far is already doing that, and we hope that continues to be the case as we keep moving through this adoption. (In the next update, we will share with you the significance of his middle name Perry)
We couldn't be more excited to be where we are on this journey, and we are extremely thankful for all of your support and prayers. Ezra is healthy (he's 23 weeks now) and so is our EM. He is due December 4th, and we can't wait to meet him!
Financially, we are only $4,500 away from fully funding our adoption, which is an absolute miracle. We couldn't say that without your help!
All of you have been more than generous, and we are so grateful. The saying "it takes a village" has echoed over and over in our minds since we started this journey, because it is the absolute truth for us.
We ask for prayer for a few things:
Pray for continued health for Ezra and mom.
Pray for alleviation of stress for the mom and dad. Their current living situation is less than ideal, and will most likely remain fluid for the next few months, creating a lot of stress and anxiety for them.
Pray that we are faithful in loving them well, and wise in creating the boundaries for us and them with Ezra.
Thank you guys for staying with us, and believing in the process of adoption. We truly believe it has the potential to change lives for everyone involved.

Posted on June 19, 2017UPDATE::JUNE 19::
Good morning everyone! It is June 19th, and we just celebrated Fathers day yesterday with our dads. Moving through both mothers and fathers day while in the process of adoption has encouraged us and offered us perspective from our friends and family that we know will help us continue and persevere through this journey.
We know we haven't updated on here in a while (it has been a crazy few months), but we wanted to give you all a snapshot of where we are, what we need, and when our baby will be here!
Baby and Mom: Our expectant mom(EM) is due sometime early December, she is currently 16 weeks pregnant. In the next few weeks we should be going to her ultrasound and finding out the gender!! We can't wait for that. The baby so far is healthy, and so is mom. Please continue to pray for them both as they grow and we experience more of this amazing process.
Financially, we have been so blessed by you guys. Starting out this journey we had no idea what it would look like or how much it would cost. Thankfully now that we are matched and we have been able to walk alongside our EM for a month or two, we have a better idea of the total cost when it's all said and done. We have raised almost $9,000 so far, an absolute miracle to us, and to get us through this whole process we are going to need about $9,000 more. That will cover all attorney fees, and all of the living expenses for our EM until the baby is born, and shortly thereafter. Please pray with us as we trust God to provide this amount, around $1500 per month until December, and as we continue to fundraise until then as well. We know God is our provider, and we also know that He has put amazing people around us to fill in the gaps that we have. If you feel led to give, or give again, please do so as the Lord leads.
It has been our goal from the beginning to bring our baby home debt free and we still believe we can do that, and we are so thankful for each of you that has partnered with us to make this possible.
In the scriptures we see over and over that when our faith is tested, it produces perseverance, endurance, character, and hope. (James 1:3, Romans 5:4) To put it point blank, we won't succeed in this without those four qualities. It hasn't been easy, but we know it will be worth it in the end.
Thank you for continuing to walk with us. Connect with us on facebook for the latest updated and fundraiser announcements.

Posted on April 18, 2017Good morning!
It has been a few weeks since we posted an update, so we wanted to share the latest on our adoption and let you know how you can continue to pray for us and support us. It is April 18th (Happy Tax Day) and we were given the opportunity yesterday to share our profile with an expectant mom in Arizona. We are extremely excited about this possible match, and also we are in a great financial need if this is the child God has for us. The expenses for this adoption are much more than we anticipated, but we know that anything is possible if this is God's plan for us. We greatly appreciate your intercession over this situation, for the parents and child, as well as for how God wants to lead us through it. We don't have a time table for when we could be chosen (matched), but we will stay in touch as we learn more.
We also wanted to let you know about fundraisers coming up. We have a facebook Norwex event on May 1st that one of our good friends is facilitating for us. Find that here (www.facebook.com/events/1885697715011593/?ti=icl). Additionally we will have T-Shirts available soon for you to buy (they're not cheesy:) and there will be a canvas painting fundraiser at Fairview Church in Greer on May 23rd. We will get you more info on all of these as we get it.
Feel free to ask any questions, text or email, and please continue to share our page (www.facebook.com/justinandjessicaadopt), give and pray! We love you guys and are so grateful for how far you've walked with us.
