First and foremost THANK YOU to all who are donating and to WSVN for helping us feature a story on Baby Rei last night. It is with a sad heart and tear filled eyes I post this update. We lost Baby Rei. She crashed once on the table during surgery and then again last night...Dr. Bravo did all he could to try to save her and bring her back a second time, but the odds were against her... Her frail body just couldn't fight. We had to choose between going in surgically to remove the stuff that was killing her or to do nothing and she would have left us eventually but suffered more. All the strings and gunk were compressing her intestines. We are broken beyond words. We fought for her and tried to give her the best shot at life possible. She left us knowing she was very much loved and her life mattered so so much to us. We were planning on sending everyone thank you cards with her after picture once she was fully back to health. We had so many plans for her, toys to buy her, hugs to give her, walks to take her on and love above all. This is by far the hardest rescue. Unfortunately, the vet bill still needs to be paid. We kindly thank you for your support through this. We hugged her very tight in the end and reassured her she had a village rooting for her.

Hi guys! Baby Rei is out of surgery and now on a long road to recovery. A lot of stuff like fish string, bone and other foreign objects were lodged in her stomach. She was in surgery for more than 3 1/2 hours and Dr. Bravo was amazing. Please please please help us get the funds we need for baby Rei. Adding surgery photos. Graphic content.

Hi all!! Thank you so much for continuing to help us reach the goal. Baby Rei is currently having surgery. They are pulling out a lot of string and fishing line from her intestine and they haven't even made it to her stomach yet where there appears to be a foreign object. Her infection wasn't going down so they had to go in. Please keep sharing and praying she makes it since her body is weak. All paws raised!
