The time of year has come where we can ALL band together to help people young and old who have been victimized as children by child abuse, human trafficking, bullying, ritual abuse and more! Ark of Hope for Children uses trauma-informed methods, mentoring and coaching to stop the seemingly endless battle in their minds and bring them to hope filled futures!
Like the teen quoted in the attached Testimonies of Hope video, their lives are shattered well beyond the time their physical victimization stops. When their bodies stop being abused, their minds stop being numb, becoming “free” to feel and too often become imprisoned by their emotional pain and memories, their nightmares, Post-Traumatic Stress and relentless fears often bring on “fight or flight mode”, anxiety attacks, severe sleep deprivation, depression, self-hate, self-harm and so much more.
Ark of Hope for Children is changing this for survivors worldwide! Through our live text chat survivor support site, RemovingChains.org, and our vast social support network we are using technology to help them no matter where they live. Connecting them to local professionals while mentoring and coaching them is meeting their unmet needs.
Listen to the attached Testimonies of Hope video for the story of one dramatically changed life that we still serve DAILY, now one year later! We need your help to continue and expand. We have served in over 12 countries and need to be able to equip and maintain volunteers in each. Will you partner with Ark of Hope this Giving Tuesday and throughout the 2015 holiday season to make this kind of permanent change in a traumatized life?
Don’t allow these young and old survivors to live in constant fear and silence any longer. Our methods work! They open up because of their ability to be more anonymous and in control. We help them connect with the professionals they don’t even know are near them who also want to help, then we continue on serving their needs in a mentoring style role, at no cost to any of the survivors. We need to reach the hundreds of thousands more and have ample resources and volunteers.
Proper funding will afford much better computers and equipment for training and awareness presentations. Donated and discounted smart phones sent by us to survivors can enable them to access our support systems. We will be able to better mobilize community based UnChained Project nationwide to reach out to support survivors in their area as well as provide awareness prevention meetings and more. Please donate today and share with everyone in your network!

The following provides some more specifics and links to all of our websites so you can see the depth of our vision to “Break the chains for those victimized as children by child abuse, human trafficking and bullying.”
Through our nonprofit organization, Ark of Hope for Children, Inc., it has been my pleasure to have personally provided mentoring styled coaching for hundreds of child abuse survivors over the last fifteen years. In 2008 we began serving our first adolescent survivors of human trafficking and child sexual exploitation. All of our services are free of cost to survivors no matter where in the world they live.
Most of Ark of Hope’s services are provided virtually using various technologies like computers, smart phones, chat software and our own live support website thereby allowing us to serve “clients” globally. Using these technologies we have helped survivors grow past Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, nightmares, sleep deprivation, flashbacks, anxiety disorders, trauma reactions disguised as learning disabilities, alcohol and drug addiction and more.
Due to our trauma-informed focus we have been honored to help many connect with, and communicate their needs with parents, foster parents, social workers, teachers and school personnel, doctors, surgeons, nurses, police and lawyers. The needs of those who have suffered through sexual exploitation and sexual abuse can be great and last a lifetime without intervention.
We are able to help some survivors receive professional counselling. Still, we are there providing virtual support between each of their visits to help them progress and hopefully recover. Others have no access to psychological therapy of any kind. A small handful of those find our services through our growing online presence.
In an effort to self-medicate and run from their emotional trauma, a good percentage of those have become addicted to alcohol or drugs. Still other survivors were managed or “controlled” by use of forced drug use so they could not flee. Therefore, they are addicted already before they even find their physical freedom.
Arguably every month society hears or reads the news stories of women, girls and boys who have been rescued from sexual abuse, child sexual exploitation or human trafficking. We breathe a collective sigh of relief and perhaps muster up a prayer of thanks for their physical freedom. Yet most of us take no consideration of the emotional trauma and its toll on their young bodies. While they may be physically free, and sometimes provided food and short term shelter, they are very often still imprisoned within their own minds. Every time they attempt to close their eyes they face the trauma through flashbacks and triggers.
Bones and bruises heal to some degree, but without long term intervention a survivor may never heal emotionally. Through Ark of Hope for Children I have served a large number of survivors who are now adults, but have hit an emotional brick wall due to child sexual abuse that they suffered from five to twenty years ago. Suddenly their personal and professional lives are derailed as the memories and traumas flood back in unrelenting tidal waves or emotional upheaval.
It is for these people who were victimized as children by abusers that Ark of Hope for Children exists.
