The Story

As many of you know, Anthony's wife Rebecca has been dealing with PH (Pulmonary Hypertension), a horrible disease, for some time now.  The only treatment for this disease is for Rebecca to carry a pump with her at all times that delivers the medication to her through a permanent port in her chest.  The medication is quite expensive to say the least.

To make matters worse, Anthony (TJ) was jogging at the Metro Parks yesterday when he slipped and fell off a 50FT cliff.  In the words of Rebecca:

"My husband, Anthony Hamilton, was in an accident. He was running in the Gorge Metro Parks and fell 50 to 100 feet off of a cliff. He is stable but pretty beat up. He has a left leg fracture, left arm fracture, a concussion, 15 stitches in his head and his skull was exposed. His right leg has a large gash and his pelvis is broken. He was rescued by water craft because aircraft could not reach him. The extraction took 2 hours. He does not remember what happened and is pretty banged up. We appreciate all of the thoughts, calls and texts regarding our family. I will post updates as I'm able to. So thankful he is alive. I'm very thankful that a bystander saw him and alerted fire and rescue. Very thankful for cuyahoga falls police, fire and rescue for saving him .
He is my rock and my world and I couldn't imagine what we would do without him. Hug your loved ones. Tomorrow is never promised. We've been through a lot with my illness and now this. We will fight on."

TJ underwent surgery on his leg today, 9/5, that took 3 hours for them to piece it back together.  He is scheduled to have surgery on his wrist tomorrow.  If all goes well he will be able to return home in a week or so but he will have to rehab for several months once he is able to walk again.  The cost will continue to mount.

Let's help this wonderful family by donating what we can to help with the insurmountable medical bills they will undoubtedly have when TJ is finally released from the hospital.

Anthony Hamilton update:

It's been great having him home! He has been doing very well and actually keeping himself busy. He uses his "grabber" to help Nico pick up toys and has even vacuumed while in his wheelchair. The vacuum is self propelled, so that helps, but what amazing things he's accomplishing. He gets around with his wheelchair and walker unassisted and doesn't really ask for much help unless he's tired. He's doing great. A lot of appts coming up. Thanks again to everyone who has donated to our youcaring and for meals and visits. Much appreciated. 😘

Update Anthony Hamilton

My hubby comes home TOMORROW!!! We cannot wait to have him home! It's been crazy running the kids around to sports etc and visiting daddy at the hospital.

He has worked so hard and is getting around so well on his wheelchair and walker.

We still have a long road to recovery, but we will have physical therapy, occupational therapy at the house before he will go somewhere outpatient.  Nurses will come 3 times a week and aides when needed.

Chris Barkley is coming to install a new shower hose for us to make things easier for him. I cannot thank chris enough for all he has done for our family. He has coordinated so much help for us. The ramp, the fundraiser, food... you name it!!  I don't know how we will ever compete with that. 🤣. We love you!!!

Thank you to everyone who has donated food, time and financial assistance through this difficult time!!

We have amazing friends and family from all over!!!

Anthony Hamilton update (from Rebecca):

He had a good day today and many sessions of PT and OT. He's been working his ass off and has made it to the highest level of care to SBA ( stand by assist for nurses, I think). Meaning he can do so much on his own.

The team will meet tomorrow and give me his projected discharge date.  I'm hearing maybe thursday or Friday.

The next steps will be getting him home. Nurses will com twice a week, aides when I need them, and physical therapists. It's going to be super crazy in this already crazy house as a family of 6. And 2 dogs.... 😳

I am amazed at how far he has come. He is determined and working hard.

I'm pretty exhausted from all the running around and doing so much in the evenings. I'm trying to make sure I get my daily test- this illness requires it and I've been on minimal sleep. I'm trying to make sure the rest I need as well.

Tomorrow great friends of ours are coming To build our ramp and they've generously donated their time and hands. I'll post more about that as the project starts.

Completely overwhelmed with all of the support we have! Of course, we aren't surprised because we love good people. We have good people in our lives.

I'll update tomorrow when I hear about the discharge. I can't wait for my sweetness to come home.

Oh... and PHuckPH 💜
