Animal House Shelter of Huntley, IL is a no-kill, non-profit shelter rescuing all breeds of dogs and cats. We have rescued over 38,000 animals since 2002. In 2017, we increased our number of adoptions, foster families, and volunteers. With the hurricanes down south, requests for us to take in animals tripled. We were able to take in over 50 dogs affected by Hurricane Harvey with the help of volunteers. While we celebrated these successes, we also felt the strain of increased costs. It was the generosity of others that made the rescues possible.
As we close out 2017, we turn to you for additional support. Animal House Shelter has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring on November 28th this year, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. We have launched a YouCaring fundraiser to demonstrate the power of community and what can be done when we join together for the common good.
It costs over $1 million to run the shelter each year. If you can, we ask you to please make a donation. Together we can reach our goal of raising $5,000 by December 31st and start 2018 off strong. Your contribution gives helpless animals a second chance at a long life and loving home that they deserve. Every dollar helps and is appreciated. Thank you.
