The Story

Animal Action Cyprus are delighted to confirm that the wonderful Sarah and Simon Waldock who live in the UK have very kindly offered a forever home to two of our cats that have serious disabilities.

Sarah is well known to many people here on Facebook and across Europe as she is an author who has written many books; some on cats.

She adopted 3 of the cats that we exported namely the Rubbish Tip Three , who have thrived and are now unrecognisable from the poor little scruffs they once were.

Now it is the turn of Mr Tom. The poor adult male cat that suffered for months with a very serious injury to his paw. We were finally able to trap him and his leg was amputated in April. He is with our foster mum and has turned in to a delightful happy friendly cat now that he is no longer in pain.

Our beautiful cat Monkey will also live with Sarah and Simon. Monkey had to have her tail amputated and later was found to have serious trouble with bowel control. We expected her to have to stay with Clare forever but when Sarah said she would take 2 cats we thought Monkey would be ideal and Sarah agreed. Monkey will be Sarah's first black and white cat.

Now the crunch is Sarah already has a number of cats she feeds and provides veterinary care for. She contributed greatly to transport the Rubbish Tip Three in 2016 so she needs help to fly these 2 to the UK now.

Please can you make a donation to help these 2 beautiful cats have the love and care they certainly deserve.

Please support Sarah's fundraiser.

Thank you.

Mr Tom prompted me to write a poem which could relate to a lot of the cats in Cyprus:

The old cat, a pantoum

With plodding steps he marches home

The old cat with the gammy leg

Tired from the endless need to roam

Tired by the endless need to beg

The old cat with the gammy leg

Fed at times by those who care

Tired by the endless need to roam

To hope that scraps might still be there

Fed at times by those who care

His efforts take him day by day

To hope that scraps might still be there

Injured, unloved, he makes his way

His efforts take him day by day

Tired from the endless need to roam

Injured, unloved, he makes his way

With plodding steps he marches home.
