Nine of us, from New Zealand, Australia, Colombia, and the United States have been volunteering at Animal Aid Unlimited in Udaipur, India.
What we saw there left us without adequate words to describe it. Almost nobody helps India's countless millions of wounded, sick, suffering animals (especially dogs, cows) that wander through the traffic-clogged streets of India. Animal Aid does this work everyday of the year, not only rescuing animals, but also teaching with enormous cultural sensitivity.
We were inspired and moved by two generations of the Myers family who founded Animal Aid and who continue to live it every day with their fabulous local staff. If you can, go volunteer!
Additionally, please help us raise funds of a month's worth of medicine, which costs US$2,500.
This will supply the need of the 10 to 15 animals who are rescued every day in the most appalling conditions, as well as the on-going care of the 150+ animals who have become permanent patients.
Please family & friends rally behind us with this amazing cause. We have all left a little piece of our heart at the rescue and will never forget the wonderful work done at Animal Aid Unlimited.
