National Guard veteran Andrew Petty was hospitalized on June 20, 2016 (which was his son's 15th birthday) following an accident while working with sulfuric acid that resulted in chemical burns over roughly 25% of his body and inflammation in his throat that resulted in intubation for more than 24 hours.
We are asking for support for Andrew and his wife Jacqueline during this difficult time and the transition afterward.
Andrew and Jackie are the wonderful parents of six children between fifteen and twenty seven, and the grandparents of two grandsons who are nine and three. Andrew married into Jackie's family four years ago and immediately took on the role of father to her five children, all of whom are incredibly blessed to have a stepfather who has never treated them as anything less than his own flesh and blood. Family is very important to both of them, and their home has been open even to their children's in-laws since the moment they were married.
Andrew is currently working two jobs to support his family, and with his accident it may be some time before he's able to return to work or even take care of a lot of the house and yardwork.
Please help us to support Andrew as he heals, food and hotel costs for his family, and the fuel necessary for the return trip.
Every little bit helps!
