Warm and militant greetings!
Our names are Nikki, Dunn, and Michael G, and we are members of Anakbayan New York. And this summer, we will be going on our much anticipated summer exposure trip to the Philippines!
As Filipino youth and community organizers almost all visiting the Philippines for the first time, we are anxious yet eager in our preparation for this exposure trip that aims to expose and immerse us in the struggle of the Filipino people. Throughout this month-long trip, we will be integrating with youth, students, workers, women, peasants, Moro and indigenous peoples, and other sectors who continue to organize and resist in their fight for genuine peace and liberation.
Expo is essential to our development as Filipino youth-and-student organizers because it is from learning about and engaging firsthand in the mass struggle for genuine liberation in the Philippines that we learn how to truly commit to the aims of the national democratic movement and fighting for genuine peace and liberation in the conditions of the United States. In our commitment to the communities we integrate with and the stories we will witness, we will return from expo ready to push the struggle forward in New York City.
And as a grassroots youth-and-student organization, this trip would not be possible without your support.
And so we ask you--our friends, family, and allies--to support us in this program that not only allows us to learn of the real conditions and history of the Philippines but that also allows us to strengthen our commitment to organizing our communities here in New York City. The money raised will go towards our travel, logistic, and day-to-day expenses.
We understand that our participation in this trip is only made possible because of the strength of our communities. No donation is too small, and every share counts.
Much love and much thanks,
Nikki, Dunn, and Michael G
