The Story

As most of you know, I have been battling Bladder Cancer.  It all started in 2015 when I was initially diagnosed.  I had what they call a TURBT (transurethral resection to remove bladder tumors) and the tumor was removed and I was considered to be in remission.  I felt great afterward and continued life as normal.  In fall 2016, I started experiencing the same type of symptoms that I had experienced before. After finally getting some cheap insurance in January that helps with doctor and prescription co-pay only, I made an appointment to see my Urologist.
In February, I was told that I have multiple tumors in my bladder and would need surgery again.  We set the date for March 16 for outpatient surgery and I thought everything would be just like last time. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't. My 1.5 hour surgery lasted 3 hours and I ended up in the hospital for 2 days.  I was referred to another doctor who specializes in difficult surgeries of this nature because I have one tumor that is so big, my doctor wasn't comfortable going after it.  My next outpatient surgery was March 31st, and unfortunately, the tumor was entirely too big to be removed via TURBT.  This doctor was only able to remove 1/3 of it.

I have been told that my only option is to have a Radical Cystectomy with Ilieal Conduit.  My bladder is so diseased that I have to have it removed with an open surgery along with any organs surrounding the bladder.  Therefore, my uterus, ovaries, and other female parts need to be removed as well to ensure that this cancer can't/won't spread.
My surgery is scheduled for May 11th, however, I'm not sure that Baylor will move ahead with the surgery without some money in their hands.  My family has been more than generous since the beginning of this ordeal and has paid over $5,000 with the resources that we had.

I have decided to ask my friends and family for any assistance possible to help me out.  Most of you who know me, knows that this is probably one of the most difficult things for me to do- ask for help.  I have worked hard all of my life and with multiple jobs at a time.  I have been working 2 jobs for 7 days a week for the last 6 years just to make ends meet.  I am not one to ask for handouts.  I am just asking for a hand UP.  Anything you can donate is so much appreciated.  Please know that.  Thank you so much and please feel free to contact me if you have questions!  I'm an open book!  Love you guys!!
