I am so excited to share this amazing opportunity that has been put on my heart. On January 9th 2017 I am able to be a part of Youth with a Mission's (YWAM) Justice and Compassion DTS (Discipleship training School) in Denver, Colorado. YWAM is a Christian based organisation that exists to get young people into missions. The Justice and Compassion DTS focuses on showing mercy in helping those who are sick, poor and exploited across the world, to bring love and to minister to those in need.
As most of you know and for those who do not know; earlier this year in April I had the incredible privilege of going to various parts of India on a short missionary trip with Elevation Church. This was a I was afraid but I knew that God was bigger than my fear. This trip radically stirred my heart I am focused on how I can help others who are broken.
Over the past nine months I have reflected on my time in India. I have been serving the homeless, broken and in need on the Gold Coast through Rosies and The Surfers Paradise Crisis Centre. During this time God has been moving in me and I learnt that I was born for more than everyday life. God has shown me that his unconditional love allowed me to do the hard work needed to continue walking on the path to freedom.
My heart longs to bring hope and a chance for freedom to those in poverty, to the unseen and to the broken. In order to do this I need to be better equipped so with much research and thought I know YWAM DTS is a great starting point for longer term missions. After a 13 week lecture phase in Denver I will take all that I learn and complete 9 weeks of service in an international setting. Some of the possible places I will go are India, Greece, Asia and Middle East.
If you would like to join me and help give many the chance to walk towards freedom here is how you can help:
I have been saving hard for some time now but trusting for another minimum AU$9,000 to go.
There are several factors such as, health insurance, airfares, visas that could make the price increase.
Every bit counts so please donate what you can.I am grateful for every amount.
