As many of you know, a fire began Sunday night in Sonoma and Santa Rosa areas. The firestorm spread into over 17 fires, and has taken tens of thousands of acres and over three dozen lives thus far. Among these losses are the livelihoods and homes of many people. Families are displaced and left with nothing but what they could take as the flames roared closer.
This fundraiser is being created to help support our beloved friends who lost their home Sunday night, Amy Soderlind and Lauren Goodman, the SoGood family.
As they awoke to smoke and ash falling like snow, they grabbed their children and animals, fleeing to safety as the fire raced over the hillsides towards their home. They were on Paradise Ridge, where the fire came early and violently without warning... without news online, without a single evacuation notice. Lauren just so happened to wake up.
Lauren returned only to save two elderly women living on the property, saving their lives.
Everything can change.
Just like that.
We are all eternally grateful for their safety. Now we work on moving forward to pick up the pieces, keeping heads up and hearts full. Amy and Lauren are amazingly resilient and are finding time to smile and play with their children while looking forward to their future and helping others who are not as fortunate to have the support and response that they are receiving.
Some of you have reached out to donate goods and some wish to donate funds to help them rebuild. They are ever so grateful for the love and support that is being expressed. Because they are overwhelmed at the response and very busy, I am helping by creating this fundraiser. The funds will help them to obtain a new place to live and the things that go in a home: furniture, bedding, clothing, appliances, baby gear, etc. Because of the amazing people who are reaching out to help, they believe they will have more than they will need, a beautifully touching knowledge to realize when you've lost all, and they deeply want to pay it all forward. While looking for a home they are planning how to sponsor others in need who are not as lucky to have so much support. In addition to providing funds for the SoGood family, you can send goods to our friends home, address listed below, where they will be sorted and divided for themselves and other families in need.
Many of us know this beautiful family from childhood, growing up in Mendocino together. Some of us know them from working creatively side-by-side on exciting projects and some of us just know them from afar, admiring and appreciating their goodness, creative endeavors, charms and wits, and loving life.
Personally, I am blessed to have them as friends who have always been there for me, friends who have provided their home to me and many others, people who make me laugh, feel loved and supported with an unconditional understanding. The kind of friends who will do anything for you, and you for them. Amy Soderlind and Lauren Goodman both work so hard to provide for and support the people in their lives.
I love these people. A beautiful family consisting of 3 year old Myles, 5 week old baby Sol, their dog, Juma, and cat, Olivia.
Their home and belongings have been confirmed lost in the firestorm. If you want to help please don't hesitate to reach out. You can donate funds here or send goods to:

In addition to donating goods or funds, any leads on places to live in the area would greatly welcomed and appreciated, including places to stay temporarily.
From the bottom our hearts, thank you so much for your love and support.
Today we remain positive and remember that the important parts are intact.
As Myles sang from his car seat as they drove away from their home for the last time, "love is all we need."
Love is everything. Thank you.
