Right now, a family we all deeply care about and love, is a little lost, and would very much appreciate your support and help. The week of April 11, 2016, their beautiful little daughter, was diagnosed with leukemia.
Their journey started at their pediatrician's office on a Monday morning, and took them to Community Hospital for an emergency transfusion overnight. From there, they dropped everything and went to Spokane to see the specialists at Providence Sacred Heart Children's Hospital for more tests and a confirmation of the diagnosis. If any of you know the Kirkley family, you know how each of them have touched our community, including their daughter, Amaya.
If you have been the recipient of kindness, joy, and so much love from knowing them, please consider making their burden a little lighter. You can help with the expenses of travel and lodging, as the family is grounded in Spokane for treatment for the next 6 months. Amaya will have a team of doctors in Missoula as well, to develop a plan to fight her cancer, and those expenses will mount, even with their insurance.
Thank you for supporting the Kirkley's through this incredible curve ball life has thrown them. Hard to believe that this all started Monday April 11, at the pediatrician's office. And now, they've dropped everything and gone to Spokane for treatment of Amaya's ALL. (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) The prognosis is good after chemo, but that treatment will last for a minimum of 6 months to 2 years.
This little girl is a wonder, a joy, and has better, stronger connections to the world, animals, and people around her than almost anyone I've ever met, of any age. She is worth everything.
Please, contribute to the support of these two loving parents who have given so much to our community. Just like you, they still have bills, rent, car payments, insurance, phone, and responsibilities. However not being able to work because they're in Spokane for 6 months, having those lodging expenses, PLUS the medical bills is a huge burden.
I want them to just be able to focus on their tiny daughter at this time. Let's make that a bit easier for them.
