Everyone has lost family members from one disease or another, and it is the most painful thing we go through in a family. After the loss of four family members due to our hereditary form of ALS, I decided enough was enough. I can’t watch another relative deteriorate from being a fully functional human being to living on a breathing machine totally paralyzed. To fight back, I am raising $3,ooo by the end of April as my senior project for high school. $1,000 will go to the ALS Association, and $2,000 will go to The Angel Fund. The Angel Fund is a smaller local organization that funds Dr. Brown at UMass Medical School who is conducting research on gene therapy. That is one of many possible cures that researchers have been looking into. Although this disease is worse than imaginable, and incurable, there is hope that a cure will someday soon be found. Please join me in raising the $3,000 for my goal to help all those suffering with ALS. I can’t lose another family member to this disease. Please follow the Facebook page For The Angels that I have created to stay updated on how the fundraising has been going, learn about any events I will hold, and learn about the disease. Thank you so much for any contribution you can make. Every penny counts. Let’s do this for our angels.!
