Since the #REDforED movement strike began, fearless LUCHA & ACE youth leaders joined the march and rally in solidarity with their teachers. These group of four amazing young people in particular, have been fighting for social and economic justice over the last couple years. Before old enough to graduate from high school, they were already champions in their community. They have traveled to Washington D.C. to advocate and march for a #CleanDREAMAct. In addition to joining powerful women in the Women’s March in Phoenix they also helped organize the #MarchForOurLives walkouts at their schools.
Along with their other ACE peers, they have also spent the last four months registering over 3000 people to vote and getting their community informed about their rights.
On Tuesday, May 1st, after spending the morning at the Arizona State Capitol supporting the #REDforED movement our young leaders were at a parking lot registering voters and on their way out, they were involved in a horrible car accident. Alexis, Fatuma, Annette and Denise, these four young freedom fighters were badly hurt, and two of them remain in the hospital.
Their recovery process will be long and painful but their courageous spirit keeps them moving forward in their healing process.
We are asking everyone who believes in human kindness and those have been touched by these beautiful students, to help them and their families ease up the financial impact of medical expenses. They now need that same community they fight for, to help and support. Please help these four AMAZING CHAMPIONS and ease their recovery process and help their families pay for medical expenses.
