On the morning of February 14, 2017, Alayna Gnagy prepared her farm for a day of severe thunderstorms. Horses, donkey, dog and cat were all tucked away safely before she headed off to work. Not long after arriving at her office, a "Shelter-in-Place" order was put out for tornados in the area. Gut instinct had Alayna drive back to her farm to check on the animals. She got back to find her home completely destroyed by a tornado.
"Jake from State Farm", her dog, had been left inside her house and MIRACULOUSLY he survived the destruction of the roof being ripped off and the house being torn to pieces. The horses, donkey, and cat also came out of the storm unscathed. In addition to the massive debris cleanup, there is minor damage to her barn, multiple pasture fences are down and her neighbor's horse trailer was picked up and thrown onto her property. The house is considered a total loss and heartbreakingly, will not be covered by insurance.
Alayna, her boyfriend, Chase, and "Jake from State Farm" are left with LITERALLY no roof over their heads.
Alayna Gnagy is the most kind, giving person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and I know she would be the first person to jump up to help anyone else in an emergency/disaster situation.
She has quite the process ahead of her in getting her farm and life back to normalcy. Please help with whatever you are able to contribute. Thank You and God Bless!
