Since its inception in 1973, AIRUM's goal has been to bolster the IR profession in our region, serving over 600 members at 200+ colleges and universities in the most recent decade alone. Each year, the stability and strength of our organization has been ensured through 1) the active participation of our generous members, 2) our consistent ability to recruit new members, and 3) modest growth of our financial reserves.
However, In January 2017, the AIRUM Steering committee learned that all reserve funds as well as all incoming 2016 conference revenues had been depleted from the organization’s financial account, leaving us with $2.53 to our name. Over the past several months of weekly meetings, legal counsel, and much deliberation, it has become clear that no simple financial resolution will be available.
With that being said, the support of our members during this difficult time has been remarkable. We are more committed than ever to rebuilding the financial stability and future success of AIRUM. We hope that you, our members, will also commit with us to looking forward toward rebuilding and recovery.
We are requesting donations to support AIRUM, with the preliminary goal of raising $3,000 by July 31st
. Your donations will help ensure that we are able to continue bolstering the IR profession and serving as a conduit for professional development, identification, and renewal.
