The Story

We are Phil and Cindy Happ from Central Illinois who are in the process of adopting a special girl from Dianbai, China. Lin Xiuyong is 13 years old and once she turns 14, under China law, she will be unable to be adopted. We are desperately trying to raise the funds needed to bring her into a our loving and caring home. We know how important it is for every child to have a family of their own. She has dreamed of having a family for a very long time. You see, she was abandon when she was only one day old! She has been in an orphanage her entire life and has seen many of her friends leave with their families. She is a beautiful child with a lovely smile and deserves so much to have a chance of a future.
We brought home two daughters from China in 2012 and have watched them grow in so many ways. They were 9 and 11 at that time and in just under two years have blossomed, grown, and matured! They have a chance at an exciting future and can truly set goals that were so unattainable in China. Please consider donating today. Thank you all for your prayers, support, and generous donations toward our daughter, Karli's, future!

Today when I was thinking about Karli and what her referral had stated when it said she was abandoned at one day old. I had to wonder about that . . . It is illegal to abandon your children so I wonder if a friend or family member took her and dropped her behind a dumpster and someone heard her crying? Or was she abandoned on a bench in hopes someone would find her? One day old! At one day old she would have missed out on her mothers tender hold. The babies in orphanages are not held, even when fed. There aren't enough caregivers to do so. To think of this special little girl growing up and watching many of her friends leaving with their adoptive families. She must have stayed awake many nights dreaming about a mom and dad who would come and get her. She said that she wants to be adopted and come to America. Karli, we made a promise to you that we would do everything in our power to get you home, but we see now that it is going to take the Power of God to accomplish this! Thank you Lord for getting us this far. Thank you all for your prayers!

It is so overwhelming to see so many people helping with Karli's adoption! Many in the adoption world knows just how much crying you do during the process and today I have been even more emotional than usual! Thank you to all my friends and family for all your support, love, and especially your prayers! Thank you for all the donations we received today!
