This description has been updated. While we originally had plans only to adopt Yuri, it has been on our hearts for some time that the Lord had bigger plans for us.
Ever since we read the article on The Rebelution blog, our hearts went out to Yuri and Viktor. Both boys are diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, and are now 7 years old, though they are no bigger than a 3 or 4 year old. They both need a new home quickly, or they will be moved to an institution for older children, where their situation would likely be even worse.
Right now, they are stuck in a crib all day long with virtually no stimulation. They are in desperate need of a loving family.
Recently (January), we have also learned of a 2 1/2 year old girl named Christina. She is at the same orphanage as Yuri and Viktor and also needs a home. She is diagnosed with epilepsy.
It is our desire to provide a loving home for all three of these children. The Lord has brought us to a place in our lives where we desire to care for children with special needs, and we know that He will equip us with everything we need to do just that.
If your hearts are also touched by these children, please consider partnering with us to cover the expenses of bringing them home. And please join us in prayer! We hope that all the necessary paperwork will be completed quickly, and that we will be bringing all three of these children home soon.
