Paul and Leah are truly an incredible couple!
Paul and Leah have not asked to be supported financially, but in doing life with them through our small group the need is evident and we wanted to open up the opportunity for as many people as possible to be involved! Please give generously to support this incredible couple and the beautiful calling God has placed on their hearts to adopt!
Paul and Leah are undoubtedly the right people to be pursuing the calling of being adoptive parents. As we think about Paul and Leah, one of the things that make them such a great fit for this calling is their immense humility in moving along in the process of adoption. They humbly understand that there is much to this process that will come as a surprise and ultimately it will be impossible to plan adequately, but they have a rock solid conviction that they want to enfold any adopted children into the family that they already are together. This humility along with their diligence in preparation is evident in a variety of conversations with them on this topic. Paul and Leah have intentionally connected with other families pursuing or already involved in adoption to gain wisdom and perspective and have learned of the life changes that will come. .
One of the things I am so grateful for about Paul and Leah is there authenticity. When you interact with Paul and Leah you are getting who they really are. This means they are able to appropriately be transparent about both their successes and failures in life. They are both extremely adventurous and love to live life to the fullest with great passion for each other and those close to them. They are both expressive, creative and have a way of humbly using their immense talents in a group setting that not only disarms the group, but also adds value to that group. Both Paul and Leah are also advocates for those without a voice. We have experienced on a variety of occasions where they are a lone voice speaking out what is true in the midst of adversity and I think this character trait is one that is crucial in the variety of adoption situations that can sometimes be difficult in transition.
Paul and Leah have been attending Woodland Hills Church for 7 years where we have had the privilege of being in a small group with them. Paul and Leah have also been intimately involved in ministry at Union Gospel Mission (a homeless shelter and transitional programming) in St. Paul. Paul and Leah have actively engaged both at Woodland Hills and Union Gospel Mission in the following ways: child care volunteers, Bible study leaders, 3 month long membership class, discipleship classes, meal cooking and serving, and have been consistent attenders on a weekly basis along with attending mid-week classes and trainings.
