The Story

When we were little we dreamed of having a family.  We never considered
the obstacles we would encounter.  When Andy and I were married we thought
our story would be like everyone elses: get married, buy a house and start
a family.  We were living our dream and our story was like a fairy tale.
We did not know the hurdles we would have to overcome.  We never thought
we would struggle with infertility.  We understood, because of my blood
clotting abnormality, that my pregnancies would be a challenge, but we
were not prepared for the heartache.

As in any great story we have experienced great happiness and great loss.
With the help of our amazing doctor we had three pregnancies.  Two ended
in miscarriage and the third was a tubal pregnancy.  We know God has a
perfect plan for us.  We trust this to be true.  And after the tubal
pregnancy and risk to my life, we decided it was time to explore adoption?lt;/span>
as a means of fulfilling our dream of starting a family.

Our journey has taken us to China.  China is a country where children with
disabilities and baby girls are often cast aside.  For multiple reasons we
cannot comprehend, these precious little ones are left out on the street,
abandoned.  Once found they are taken to an orphanage and await adoption.
Our hearts ache for these children, they are in need of parents, and we
are in need of a child.  So it is with great joy we announce, we have
begun the adoption process to adopt a baby girl from China!

Our application has been accepted, and now we are turning to you, our
friends and family to ask for your help.  Please join us in making our
dreams a reality.  We want to bring one of these very special children
into our family.  We have set up a “” web site chronicalling our story.  We are asking you to come alongside in prayer, support and financial sponsorship.

Our next steps include saving and raising the $26,000 to sponsor the adoption of our daughter.  We are scheduling home visitsand working through the piles of paperwork leading up to a trip to China where we will finally meet our little girl and bring her home.  We expect the process to take approximately 18 months.  Imagine, our little girl will be born soon, or she may have already taken her first breath!

Having a family is such a gift. Thank you for being a part of our journey

This month we where so blessed with a couple of amazing toddler showers. One from our familes, one from our friends and another from my triathlon team.  We are so happy to share this incredible and exciting time. We have been waiting to become a family for so long and now it is just weeks away. We are so thankful to have all of you in our lives, not only caring so much for us, but loving and caring for our daughter as well. We couldn't be more thankful. Our hearts have been so touched and Preslie is so lucky to be so loved. Thank you all for you continued support, prayers and thoughtfulness.

We recently received an update on our daughter!! She is more and more amazing every time we see her, we are so in love!! Preslie was born with a right club right foot, and had surgery at two months old. She now wears corrective shoes and is doing great. Her profile says she can run, jump and climb up and down stairs. It sounds like nothing slows her down. She's a very active and spunky little girl, She is perfect.
We also had our first toddler shower this past weekend. It was so much fun and we can't thank our family enough for all of their love and support. We are so blessed and couldn't be more thankful. We where also told today that we can share pictures, so we can share with all of you. Thank you all so much for your continued support and prayers. This has been such an incredible journey.
