Loving one another so greatly after being high school sweethearts, Aaron and I were married ten years ago. Since then we have been on a miraculous journey of life, chasing our Creator's desires through every twist, turn, and bend in the road.
God gave us two beautiful and healthy children, whom we were content and felt fulfilled to raise. Our hearts were full. Listening to God's word, He placed a calling on our hearts to grow our family through adoption.
Laying down our hands, we were determined to give God our greatest offering of love. We pushed through fear, uncertainty, and doubt. We opened our hearts and listened to God's desires for our family.
Numbers clouded our minds, skipping beats in our hearts, with every statistic we read regarding the dismal future Eastern European orphans hold. The deeper we fell in love with our unknown child, the more we searched. Two days after devastating circumstances caused us to give up almost all hope, I awoke to an email with a link. Clicking the link, a page appeared with two beautiful faces. Tears rolled down my cheeks. Staring at the computer, I picked up the phone to snap a picture and send it to Aaron. Within moments, my phone rang. “Those are our girls,” he said. With tears in my eyes, I sobbed, “I know.”
We soon found out that God had just worked a miracle. The girls were added four days prior to the program photo-listing closing for winter hosting. Late additions had never been made before. Ukrainian paperwork for the girls had just gone through, after failing for the past two hosting sessions. The program felt called to put them on their site. We came along two days later. God knew all along, and now we did too.
The girls arrived and laughter filled our house. We found a new spirit within ourselves. It was not long before the girls were calling us Mama and Papa. We melted. We cherished every moment… chasing new adventures, experiencing, teaching, and loving on one another. We showed them life, love, and affection. God gave us all a new hope for the future. The girls saved us, and now we need to save them…Forever.
Help us bring our girls home. The cost of adopting two children from Ukraine is $35,000. During that process, the girls will be coming for another hosting session in the summer. This cost is $6,000. Every donation, no matter the size goes directly to helping bring the girls home for good.
Please pray for the safety of our girls. War, poverty, and crime in Ukraine is a reality. We pray they hold on to hope through the despair. May the Lord give us guidance, stedfast love, and a speedy adoption.
