On April 25, life in Nepal changed drastically. My homeland was damaged by the 7.8 earthquake and all the subsequent and ongoing aftershocks continue to rattle not only the buildings and hills, but the people’s soul and spirit as well. I am now redirecting my efforts from relief supply to rebuilding. For this, I have set up this YouCaring site as an alternative to my CrowdRise site. It became apparent after a month of fundraising on that platform that their (CrowdRise) fees are too high, and I want as much money as possible to go towards rebuilding and relief efforts there.
I stand stead-fast in my resolve to help my country-people. And hence beginning this Fall and next Spring I plan to enlist the help of friends and clients who love Nepal to help rebuild as many homes and schools as possible – initially a minimum of 50 homes. My friends at 3 summits and I are fundraising for this now. Each new home should cost around $3,000. And building 50 homes would cost around $150,000. From past fund raisers we have around $50,000 and will now need to raise an additional $100,000.
