Karli has always made us proud with her mostly straight 'A's. Most of her weekly test she comes home with %100 or better!. We really try to reward her as much as we can. I think what makes her fill with pride is when she hears how proud WE are of her. I always ask her, "how do these grades and awards make you feel" she responds, "Very happy and proud of myself". As a parent its wonderful to actually see your child having a good self esteem, and a general really good feeling about her academics. They are just as important for her as they are to us. When she was hospitalized for a week she really missed school. So she tried to make her own school day. She had quite a few books to read, she would participate in the hospitals art hour. She was estatic when she was finaly well enough to return to school. :) Its one thing to know how remarkable your own child is...but to have a state wide program select her to go straight to being a finalist, the feeling is indescribable. Karli herself is very excited! She planning her competitions, dances, outfits, interview topics, etc. In her mind she's going to be there and she's going to win that $4000.00! Reality is we really need help to get her there. This is once in a lifetime and we really want her to be there. Thats why we are asking for sponsors, and support from family and friends. Please, a little bit from many people WILL help out! The more support Karli knows she has the more confidence she has in herself!
