John “Sheena (Sis Nab)” Steven Thao was born on April 6, 1980 in Denver, Colorado to the parents of GaXue and Blhai Thao. He is survived by his wife Choua Lor; son, Ashton Thao; parents, GaXue and Blhai Thao; four brothers, Va Thao (Panyia), Meng Thao, Michael Thao (Pana Lor), Ching Thao (Shor Yang); three sisters, May Ko (Ker) Yang, May Kou (Wanger) Xiong, Tonglee (Yang Dao Vang) Thao. John was the 5th child and first born in the United States. John was known by his family members as Johnny. John was born a tiny, fragile baby that couldn’t immediately come home but he eventually grew up to be a bold, strong man. John had a unique persona. He was full of silly jokes and jokes that made no sense. Wherever he went, he made the atmosphere lighter and brighter. He loved his nieces and nephews and teased them often. He also loved his brothers and sisters. He was an unselfish man filled with generosity. He graduated from Wausau East High School in 1999 and afterwards in 2001, John began to work for Awards Hardwood Floors. On April 1, 2011 John married Choua Lor and on October 3, 2011 they were blessed with a baby boy they named Ashton Phengxue (Pheej Xwm) Thao. On May 5, 2012 at 2:00 a.m., John complained to his wife about a sharp pain from his head to his abdomen. At the hospital, the doctors were not able to diagnose his condition. At 1:15 p.m. on May 5, 2012, John died of an Thoracic aortic dissection (Stanford type A, DeBake type 1) with hemopericardium (700 cc, blood and clot). John is loved by many and will forever be missed. The Thao family is asking for help. They are asking to raise money in order to cover for John’s funeral cost. Thank you!
