The Kennedy family is in our thoughts and prayers this holiday season.

I had the privilege of having MAJ Kennedy as my Tactical Officer at West Point for around 3 years when I was in Company A4 (Class of 2011). We kept in touch via e-mail while we were both deployed to Afghanistan and always motivated me to do better. It is such a shame that such a great person was lost so early in his life. I will never forget all that he has done for me and I will dedicate the rest of my Army career in his memory.

On behalf of the players and parents from Essex (VT) Youth Hockey Pee Wee A team, we send our thoughts and prayers to the Kennedy family.

Kennedy Family, My heart continues to grieves deeply for your loss. Tommy was one of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure of serving with or had the honor of calling brother. He was the type of guy who would give you the shirt off of his back and tell you a joke to make you laugh and forget about your problems for a few minutes. I will never forget the conversations I had with Tom in some of my darkest hours and how he was always there to listen to a friend in need. Nor will I forget the elation I heard on his voice when he found out you were not just having one beautiful baby BUT TWO. Here I was saying "oh boy, that's going to be a challenge Tommy" and he was happier than I ever heard him. That just speaks to the character and love inside of TK. A father's love is something that can never be understood or matched and I know Tommy's love for his family ran pure and deep. His sacrifice for everyone of us will NEVER be forgotten and I will never truly be able to express how much I feel for you all. TK is one my heroes and will always be spoken about in my household with the highest esteem. Tommy I love you and I will never forget you. May God pour out His most abundant blessings on your family for the rest of their days on this earth in your honor. Be thou at peace my brother. Everyday the Army demonstrates how connected we are. After hearing of MAJ Kennedy's death on the news, I was told by my brother in law, Ryan McKenna, that he and MAJ K had played hockey together when they were growing up. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of MAJ Kennedy.

A small gesture for a true hero

I first met your Dad after my cousin Timothy Keilty's comencement ceremony from West Point in May 2009. Colonel Kennedy (at the time) inducted Tim in front of our entire family on a glorious spring day with the mountains and Hudson River in the background. Our family was very impressed that such a young man was a colonel ! We knew he was an extraordinary officer and we were honored to have him join us on Tim's USMA Graduation day.

We would like to make this donation in Tom’s memory and in honor of Kitchi Joyce, Kami’s sister. Kitchi has worked tirelessly with members of our medical group for over 15 years and has become integral to our practice. We appreciate Tom’ service and his sacrifice and extend our deepest sympathy to his family and community of friends.

I remember an outgoing young TK always at the rink. Skating around everyone at public sessions. My mom (Ann Ackerson) taught John and would come to watch their hockey games. I saw TK a few years ago at the rink. I asked why he was going back overseas if his debt to WP had been paid. His answer was that it was the right thing to do and somebody has to do it. He said it with that big grin on his face. I was humbled by his bravery and values. In awe of the man he became I left feeling safer and proud as an American. We are so sorry.

I know of Major Thomas Kennedy through his Father in Law and my work colleague Frank Joyce. I feel the pain of his loss to his wife and young Children at their so young age. Like many brave warriors before him he gave his life in defence of his country and the result of what over time many forget. The loss of many innocent people from countries around the world on September 11, 2001.

Never saw him without a smile. Such an incredible role model and impacted everyone around him.
