I’ve been nominated as one of 10 contestants in the Young Professionals of Birmingham’s 2013 “Young, Hot Birmingham” Competition.
Now, don’t let the name fool you… this competition is about raising money for charity! I don’t think I’m “hot stuff,” and let’s face it, I’m not that young anymore either, but I do hope that you will be able to support me in raising money for Make-A-Wish Alabama!
Each year, YPBirmingham selects 5 men and 5 women to compete to raise money for charities of their choosing. The male and female contestants who raise the most money are crowned “Mr. and Ms. Young, Hot Birmingham.” I am honored to be representing Make-A-Wish Alabama in this year’s competition!
Make-A-Wish Alabama grants the wishes of Alabama children with life-threatening medical conditions in order to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Alabama chapter is currently working to grant 120 wishes this year, and wishes are being requested faster than funds are arriving. Wishes can’t come true without people who care… people like YOU! By donating to Make-A-Wish Alabama today, YOU have the opportunity to help connect local children to their wishes, positively and immediately impacting those children, their families, and our community.
I am currently privileged to serve as Chair of the Make-A-Wish Alabama Birmingham Junior Council. I have experienced the “power of a wish” first-hand in my time volunteering as a “wish granter,” helping guide children and their families through the wish granting process. These experiences have touched my heart, inspired me, and enriched my life tremendously.
I hope that you can help me raise money for this incredible organization, and “share the power of a wish!”
Thank you for your time and consideration in supporting me and Make-A-Wish Alabama.
