Iberomed is a non profit organization of volunteer EMS Providers in Mexico City. We have had three ambulances in the past 20 years and sadly have had to sell the last one we had because of mechanical issues. We need a new ambulance for these young volunteers to continue saving lives.
Iberomed helps around 400 people a year (with only one ambulance). But right now they are the ones that need help raising funds. 85% of their patients can't afford the ordinary medicals services in Mexico City and need free prehospital care by volunteer groups such as Iberomed.
Aside from giving free prehospital care and emergency transport to the injured and sick, they also give an EMS Course (amongst the least expensive in Mexico City) and graduate around 20 new EMS Providers a year!

Useful information:
They use A.H.A. and NAEMT standards (ACLS, BLS and PHTLS)
Are compliant with local norms (NOM-237 for Ambulance Use)
Work hand in hand with The National Red Cross
Delivered aid to Acapulco in 2013 after a hurricane destroyed most of the city

Yesterday was a slow day for our fundraising effects. But are we worried? Of course not! We know that there are thousands of people out there willing to help and we are confident that we will get to our goal!
Help us out, though! If you don't want to donate or can't donate, please just share this link with your friends and family. The more people see who we are, the faster we can reach our goal!
Thank you so much to all our supporters!

People from different parts of the world have started asking how they can help. So far we have had people from Brazil, Mexico, The United States, Canada, Italy, Ireland, Germany and Spain send us questions or their verbal support!
You don't have to donate money to help... You can help by sharing our cause with your friends through Twitter and Facebook. It's through the simplest of deeds that the biggest actions take place.

We have reached over 15,000 people through Social Media in the past three days. Many have shared our cause or have sent e-mails expressing support for our fundraiser. KEEP SHARING and we will be able to get to our goal sooner than we expected.

I'll leave you with a story from a doctor in one of the hospitals we tend to take patients to:
"A few months ago Iberomed arrived with a non criticial patient that required a few x-ray shots. However, our radiologist was asleep and would not get to work. Iberomed quickly called our atention to this and started helping other patients up and taking them to the x-ray room, prepping them on the machine and helping other technicians and doctors o quickly get through the over saturated line of injured patients that were there before, and after, Iberomed's patient.
They trully made a difference in the emergency ward that day! "
The doctor asked to be kept annonymous.

Keep sharing this cause so that we can continue to help doctors and patients in our great city!

Message from a patient:
"I want to thank you for saving my dad's life and taking him to the hospital in time. At two in the morning on saturday (23rd of November 2013) in San Jerónimo Lidice, my father of 72 years of age and diabetic, started having seizures that even the young paramedics witnessed. By chance and fate a patroll care led the ambulance to our home because no one (not the Red Cross, Social Security or anyone) had an available unit... They were so professional, so human and, well, they belong to Iberomed... There lies the difference. Thanks with all my heart... a million thanks! " (Original Post in Spanish).
Every cent you give helps people like her and her father continue building a life together!
