Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ-
God has provided me with a wonderful opportunity that I can't wait to share with you. I will be serving in Poland this summer on a short-term mission team alonside missionaries from The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. *As of 1/15/13 I found out the following:
The Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland, through its Center for Mission and Evangelism (CME), is again requesting teams from the LCMS to come and help them reach out to the lost and unchurched in their communities throughEnglish Bible Camps. This is the fourth year that LCMS congregations will partner with Polish Lutherans to host camps that share the message of Jesus with children.Your mission team will depart the U.S. on a Tuesday and arrive in Poland on a Wednesday by early afternoon. You will participate in a one day orientation by LCMS field personnel and then travel to your service location on Friday. Friday and Saturday will be spent preparing for the English Bible Camp. On Sunday you will have the opportunity worship with your Polish hosts and make any final preparations for the event you will be cooperatively leading from Monday to Friday. On Saturday you will have the opportunity see some local points of interest or just relax with your team. Sunday you will worship with your hosts and travel back to your initial orientation location. Monday you will depart. Typically, the participants range in age from 7-14. Many have studied the English language, but few have interacted with a native speaker.
I am Blessed by the Lord to have this opportunity; I am currently studying at Concordia University Chicago-River Forest and am Majoring in Deaconess Ministry/Theology and Minoring in Geography, and I just know how beneficical this missionary opportunity is going to be! My mission statement for life is to, "Travel the world and help God's people in whatever way I can," and I live by my favorite Bible verse, the Great Commission, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Matthew 28:19. I need your prayers as I continue on the path of life God has Blessed me with!
*NOTE* As of 1/15/2013 I just received word from Lutheran World Mission that the price of the trip is SIGNIFICANTLY less than I anticipated! :) The plane ticket looks to be about $1500, the trip separate from that looks to be about $1200, ...so I am rounding up to $2800.
As of 3/9/2013- I applied for my Passport and by looking at plane tickets have found some to be between $900-$1300 ...so I am again changing the goal amount. This time to $2,300!
As of 4/4/2013- My Passport is getting processed and I have received more donations in cash and check bringing my raised amount to $1050. That is why the goal amount has been lowered again! :) Thanks everybody for your help and prayers!

So now, that is one less thing that I need to do, AND one less thing that I need to raise money for. So I will subtract the amount needed for a passport off of the goal amount!

Well...we are about 2% there; it is something, it is a start, and I thank you for that. I have been sharing the link with all people I know, and asking them to share the link with their circle of friends. Eventually, word will get out and I anticipate receiving more support.
Currently-I did receive $30 from two friends, here at College, that I will be putting in the bank and then transferring over here to the youcaring.com account. That will put the total at $145. With that, I could buy my Passport already, which is after all the FIRST step!
I am not yet sure what my bill for next Fall looks like (for College), but depending on the situation, I may not need to raise very much money at all...I will have to get back to you about that. If that was the case, the good news is that my GOAL AMOUNT would drop! Because for the Poland Trip I would need $3,000 roughly.
