The Lee Family Benevolence Fund

$12,490raised of $45,000 goal

Organizer: Karin Gornick Beneficiary: Carrie and Harry Lee

On May 10, 2014, Jeffrey Fraser Lee passed away after complications from Pulmonary Fibrosis and Vasculitis. Jeff was in Northern California on business when he suffered an acute attack of the disease. After 2 weeks of a valiant fight at Stanford University's ICU, Jeff passed away peacefully surrounded by family and tunes of the Kingston Trio.
In Jeff's memory, friends have established this donation site to provide support for his family during this difficult time. Due to the unusual circumstances surrounding the timing of Jeff's death, there is currently very little income available to Carrie, nor any life insurance available to collect. We are hopeful for a more favorable outcome for the long term, so this fund is meant to offer short term assistance and has been making a huge difference for Carrie and her family.
In addition to providing support for current expenses, donations will go towards Harry's school tuition at Minnesota Life College in Richfield, MN.  The school provides critical support trainng in life skills for it's students, as well as advising and assisting their families in acquiring outside services necessary to transition students with special needs to semi independent living environments post graduation.

Please consider making a gift to the family in Jeff's memory. Your gift, combined with others,  will and already has made a big difference.

For anyone who is more comfortable mailing a donation rather than making a gift online, please write a check to The Lee Family Benevolence Fund, and mail to:

**To date, over $30,000 has been raised, though not reflected on this website ( mailed directly to TCF Bank) but greatly, greatly appreciated! Please help us to meet our goal of $45,000 !
**Two memorial services were held. The first was on Saturday, June 28 in Minnetonka, MN.The second was on Saturday, August 2 in Tiburon, CA. A picnic followed and all of Jeff's family and a few close friends helped to celebrate Jeff's life. We only regret that we were unable to reach more of our friends.

Thank you for any support you can offer. If you have any questions, please call Karin, Carrie's niece at: 415-488-3100.

The memorial service in Minneapolis on June 28 was amazing! A full house, a Kingston Trio hit solo, and several very meaningful tributes to dear Jeff. It would have made him proud!

Hello Friends and Family,
This is a message from Carrie. First of all, my niece Karin Gornick has made a huge difference in our lives by creating this website I want to thank her publically for all the time and hard work that went into this.
We feel so fortunate and blessed to have such wonderful and supportive friends and family. You are all making a huge difference for us, and giving me personally the space, and time to sort out my financial situation, and spend some quality time with my son Harry this summer without having to feel pressed to make some major decisions about carreer and housing, before I
am ready to do so. I would like to personally thank every one of you, and that may take a while, so I hope you all read this!
With love and gratitude,
