My condolences to everyone tied to this event. As a sailor myself, this event hits me right at home. The day this happened I was sailing in the Los Angeles Harbor Cup aboard a Catalina 37 with my team from New York Maritime College. The second day of racing, after the accident, we were coming up to the starting line with 10 other boats. When we approached the line we noticed roses floating through the water in honor Craig. At that moment, as I was screaming for my helmsman to come up so we could avoid kelp from fouling our keel, I suddenly felt sad. I thought of the people the roses may have come from and how they had lost someone dear to them. However, in an odd way, I felt reassured and took from the floating roses that we just have to keep sailing. A little montra I learned from a friend of mine, is just keep sailing, just keep sailing, what do we do, we sail sail sail. Having watched Finding Nemo many times with my little sisters I happen to know its origin. I pray that your family will just keep sailing.

Hi Kjersti Carol and I lived in San Diego for 6 months a couple of winters ago and we raced with Craig a couple of times out of Silver Gate Yacht Club. More often we were on Cheri Marie with Brad. We met one afternoon after a race when you came down. You probably don't remember us but that is ok. I'm sorry for your loss and hope this little bit helps.

Craig was a great teacher, friend, and sailor. I'll miss his instruction during practices and races, then sharing some Christmas Crown or rum together afterwards.
