It is a video that my niece, Jennifer Kordecki Johnson, created and placed on youtube 3 months ago to raise money so she could have open heart surgery.

She had a disease called HOCM - Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy - and was a 30 year old woman with two small children - Mikayla (33 months) and Malykai (18 months). Her only wish was for her heart to be strong enough to see her babies grow up. After this surgery, she would have a new live.

Her surgery took place at HealthPark Medical Center Friday, Dec. 14th by a team of talented doctors and surgeons, but she had complications. She underwent two additional surgeries over the next two days and in the end her heart never recovered.

We took her off life support Monday (Dec. 17th) at 10:10pm and she went home to the care of God at 10:17pm with her Mom and me holding her and her guardian angel, Auntie "Ei", outside her door.

Jennifer's husband, Robert is devastated and our family has been doing our best to support him emotionally, financially and spiritually but her children have short term and long term care needs we can't meet. We have created this fundraising page to collect donations. We also are setting up a trust fund for them.

On January 12, 2013 friends and family gathered for a celebration of life for our dear Jennifer on Fort Myers Beach, FL. The setting could not have been more perfect in it's natural, pristine beauty. Poems were read and tears were shed, but nature was the guest of honor. At sunset we said our goodbyes to our Jennifer in the shimmering waters, surrounded by rose petals and candlelight. Flights of birds flew through and a single jet shot into the sky leaving a trail to the heavens. As the sky changed colors and music played in the distance we released lanterns into the night sky and a free spirtit's spirit was set free to mingle with the universe. Goodbye Little Jenifka - untill we see each other again.

Jennifer Rene' Kordecki Johnson, 30 of Cape Coral, FL passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012. She was born on May 17, 1982 in Wayne, New Jersey. 

She is survived by her loving family including her husband, Robert Alyn Johnson; children, Mikayla Rae Johnson and Malykai Roman Johnson; mother, Susan (Nicholas) Gannis; father, Ray (Linda) Kordecki; siblings, Robin, Daniel, Tina and Andraea; grandfather, Roman Edward Kordecki; aunts, Eileen Renee Kordecki and Laura Melbourne; uncle, James (Christine) Wester; many extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her grandmother, Eugenia Kordecki. 
There will be a private memorial at a later date.

I'm sorry to read about Jennifer's passing. Jennifer must have suffered knowing that she might not survive. I mean, imagine being unable to carry your children, or walk up stairs without becoming short of breath or dizzy...at the young age of 30. There is no shortage of compassion and empathy for Jennifer, her children, and the loving family that she has. Jennifer is my adopted little sister. Knowing her as well as I do, setting up this fundraiser sight was ONE of the hardest things she has ever had to do. Jennifer is a strong woman and asking for money or help is not in her nature. All funds raised through this sight will strictly go toward the care and education of Kayla and Kia. I think the money should be raised towards some sort of foundation to raise awareness of the disease or condition...I mean there are many people struggling out there on one low wage, sole parents with minimal funds dont have a roof over their heads nor money for food and basic necessities...i truly wonder about this....may she rest in peace but i think everyone needs to really know about the financial situation of this family...seems to me they have family support and are not destitute. You need to inform the public before going global on this fundraiser for the....children?
