A Blessing for Joel:
May the Lord bless you and keep you, May His face shine upon you and give you Peace.
Thank you F in C!
Thank you just doesn't seem enough words to show the deep appreciation we have for the support that has been given to Joel. But please know that it comes from the bottom of our hearts......THANK YOU! We are slowly making our way towards our goal, it seems like a long way off but I've heard the question posed "How do you eat an elephant?" Answer: "One bite at a time". And so we continue, one bite, one step, one day at a time.
Joel had clinic yesterday....I've developed a dislike for them because they are reality checks that are not always easy to deal with....and though we had hoped for better news, we know the ALS continues to progress and there are a couple of decisions Joel needs to make, sooner rather than later.
Please continue to keep him in your prayers, VISIT, SHARE and LIKE his Facebook page (Team Joely D - Fighting ALS One Day At a Time), donate towards his goal, if you so feel led.
Let's raise awareness of this awful disease,in the hopes that someday a cure will be found.
Thanks again, and may the Lord richly bless you.
I think Joel has finally rested up from his trip to Disneyland. Many, many thanks to all who made it happen. You have given Joel, Anissa and the rest of the family priceless memories.
The sliding bathtub transfer chair was delivered Thursday by Renee and Kim from the ALS - AZ organization. What a difference that has made! It made showering so much easier and didn't take so much energy out of him. Monday, the representative from Tobii, the makers of speech augmention devices, will stop by to set up Joel's device. It's an amazing device that will be controlled with the gaze of his eyes. He's anxious to get it set up as it will give him more freedom and make life a litte easier for him.
His appetite has been lacking. He doesn't seem to want to eat and when he does, it's not as much as before, which concerns me. Please keep him in prayer.
