To everyone who may or may not know Jeremy Huff. Prayer’s are in need for him and his family. Jeremy is the sole provider for his family or four. He and his wife, Stephanie have a 1 year old daughter Ellie and a 4 year old son Henry.
On Sunday, November 4, 2012 Jeremy and a friend were trail riding on their motorcycles. Jeremy hit a rock which launched him in the air and down a 10-20 foot cliff landing on his back. Jeremy was wearing a helmet, which thankfully saved him from head injury, but left him with multiple spine and shoulder injuries. His buddy was able to carry him out and save his life, as if he would have left him to get help Jeremy might not be with us today. X-ray’s were taken at Memorial Hospital then told and he was immediately air lifted to Harbor View.
X-rays revealed a clean break at T9, and shatter burst fractures in T7 & T8. Another x-ray revealed a fracture at the base of his skull near C1 and C2. His Upper Left humorous was broken in multiple areas near the ball joint. This is a miracle, as where the breaks were the doctors warned his family that he could be paralyzed. During the surgery on Jeremy’s back they have put rods and screws from T5-T12. These will be there permanently. He has no nerve damage from what the doctors have seen so-far, and after surgery the doctors noticed that Jeremy could move his arms and legs and told his family that he would walk again.
Jeremy has a long road to recovery he will be in Harbor View until his doctors release him. Jeremy is in need of any help he can get. His family members have opened an account at Banner Bank, donations can be made at any branch. Just tell a branch representative that you would like to make a donation to Jeremy Huff’s account. Selah Lions club along with a few other Lions clubs in Yakima County have put together a fundraiser dinner in support of Jeremy and his family. Please continue praying for Jeremy and his family. His kids are currently staying at their Grandma’s house. When Jeremy returns home we will put together nightly dinners for their family. Jeremy's Fundraiser Dinner will be held December 21, 2012 at Selah Civic Center, Adult tickets are $10.00, Child tickets are $5.00 for ages 10-under. Family members will have tickets. Or you are more than welcome to buy tickets at the door. We will have a silent auction as well. Thank you again.
