Davis has been diagnosed with Pre B Cell ALL Leukemia and will be receiving treatments at St. Louis Children's Hospital for the next 4 years. We've set up this page to help the McKay's with travel to and from treatments, medical costs, and other expenses related to Davis's medical needs.
Perhaps you know Brian & Courtney from the Art Mart, from the police force, from Prairie Gardens, Jennifer North, bacaro or Mirabelle...maybe you grew up with them or they're your new-ish neighbors. However we know them, we know them to be people who jump in - who help out - who impact their community. And now their community can come together to impact them.
Our donations can help alleviate stress on the family & all are so appreciated. Thank you.
****An Update on 4/27/13: Lisa here. We are all, of course, filled w joy over the news that Davis is in remission. Thank you to everyone who sent notes, good thoughts, prayers, and love. This little boy is in good hands, with so many people surrounding him with care. Thank you. We have been overwhelmed by the financial support as well. Utterly amazing & helps to relieve so much stress from the family.
In talking with Brian recently, we found that just one of Davis's chemo treatments will run over $4k over the course of 3+ more years. We weren't sure where to set our goal initially, but as the costs become more clear, I am raising the fundraising goal today to equal about half what the current out-of-pocket estimate is for the entirety of Davis's treatment. We will also be doing fundraisers ongoingly to help with the remainder. We'll keep you posted throughout at davismckay.com. Hugs to all. ****

*****A message from us all on 4/12: THANK YOU! We met our initial goal of $7500 in less than 3 days. AMAZING. AWE INSPIRING. Humbling. Thank you so much for all the love you've shown Davis & family. We will continue to accept donations & post all things Davis here at davismckay.com. The family is preparing for 4 years of treatment. Co-pays and deductibles will cost approximately $6k per year + travel expenses, meds, and lodging. We will be trying to cover all of these extras for the family so they can focus on health & strength with D, and - you know - regular life stuff like running a business & raising 2 boys. We're in it for the long haul & so appreciate your help to get Davis's fund started. Remember...love wins! xoxo.*****
*****A message from Brian & Courtney: "We are so appreciative that you want to help. Thank you! Please don't send flowers, meals, or anything to his hospital room, our house, or the Art Mart. We just don't have the space. Because we will be on the move a lot, we so appreciate your cash donations to pay for meals, lodging, and gas. Of course we would love to see you all, but we have to be very careful about keeping Davis free from any type of infection. If you plan to visit, please get in touch with one of us first."*****
