It is with our deepest sadness, and sorrow, that we announce the passing of our sweet boy Bradan James. He passed away peacefully, at home, last night with Mom, Dad and Baby Liv by his side. He has endured more than we can even imagine and take comfort in knowing that he is with Jesus, and isn’t suffering anymore. We’ve been on many “adventures” over the last few months trying to save Bradan’s life. Amongst starting alternative therapies, Bradan got to endure his first airplane ride and saw the ocean for the first time. Bradan knows he is loved “to the end of the earth and beyond, times infinity” and we feel SO incredibly blessed to be his parents! We will always remember his sweet and sensitive nature; his “goofy goofy” comedian side, open mindedness, and an overall good spirited/extra ordinary boy!
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the prayers, support, love, guidance, lending ears and strength you have given us. Bradan knew how much everyone loved him and, for that, we are forever grateful. Thank you for walking in this journey together with us. We continue to ask for prayers as we try and make sense of everything and pick back up again. We need your love!
Bradan’s funeral services will be held this Sunday, April 21st at Northbrook Church in Richfield WI. Visitation begins at 3:30 pm with a service to follow at 7:00pm.

Bradan has fought long and hard but last week he has asked to come home. We arrived home on Sunday night. We appreciate everything that everyone has done for us on this journey. At this time we just ask everyone to pray for peace and comfort for Bradan. We also ask for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you -

Let me start out by saying that the support being shown to us is absolutely amazing! We know that everyone wants to know what is going on with Bradan and we apologize for the lack of updates. Everyday has been super busy down here and one day blends into the next.
While down here in Charlotte we have spent about 14 hours a day seeking medical help. The clinic that we came down here for is an outpatient clinic so if you have any problems after they are closed, you need to seek additional care on your own.
Unfortunately, we have had to spend a number of nights in hospitals and have visited another clinic countless times. We would be lost down here if not for the help of a local oncologist that has gone way out of her way to help us more times than we can count. During on of the hospital stays a doctor ordered a CT scan. The results of the scan were not totally shocking but also not at all what we had hoped for. The tumor is now back in Bradan's abd...omen for the third time.
Even though it seems that the conventional medical doctors have given up on Bradan, WE HAVE NOT!
Tomorrow morning I am getting on a plane with Bradan to go to a treatment center near San Diego, CA. Monica and Liv will soon follow once they tie up some loose ends here in Charlotte. The treatment center that we are going to is an inpatient clinic with 24 hour monitoring. The treatments will be pretty much the same as we are receiving here in Charlotte but due to the complexities of Bradan's situation, he needs the round the clock monitoring offered there. We continue to ask for positive energy and healing thoughts. We also ask that you pray for safe travels for us all and ask that the good Lord guides our new medical providers in helping to heal Bradan!
Again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you! The Hermes Family
An update from Roy:
Our journey to North Carolina took us 17 hours and went smoother than we anticipated-- especially with a sick child and a 4 month old. We arrived to the Ronald McDonald house and, within an hour, had to be admitted to the ER for hypercalcemia or high calcium levels in the blood. This type of cancer causes high calcium and has to be watched carefully for damage to the heart and kidneys. Despite this and every setback we've endured, we still have so much to be thankful for! Yesterday, Bradan was started on various treatments, tests and blood work. He continues to get lots of Mommy's good nutrition thru his NG tube and is starting to perk up a bit. We are so thankful that Bradan is in the best place possible for nurturing and healing care! Furthermore, we have no words for all the love, support and prayers we have been receiving--Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! It has truly been an overwhelming joy to feel love from our Heavenly Father, family, friends and people we don't even know!! We will update you as to Bradan's progress and we continue to ask for positive, healing prayer.
With Love, The Hermes Family
Bradan and family made it safely to North Carolina last night. Roy will be providing us with an update tonight after Bradan's first day of treatment at the clinic. Stay tuned!!!
The Hermes family and Bradan checked out of Children's Hospital in Milwaukee last night. They are currently on the road driving to North Carolina where they will be seeking additional help in treating Bradan. Please pray for a safe trip and for Bradan to stay strong and respond well to the new treatment. Roy and Monica will update us all again soon.
Thank you all again for your love, support, and prayers!!!!
