Jackie, a mother, wife, daughter, sister and nurse is in need of help. March 28, 2013 Jackie was having unexplained pain in her head. Her husband Tim called 911 and she was rushed to the hospital. Jackie had a ruptured aneurysm and since has been in ICU. The medical bills will grow as Tim and two little girls wait for Jackie to speak again.

Jackie is speaking and also walking slowly. Each day brings Jackie closer to being home.

As of 5/24/13 Jackie is home with her family. Thank you everyone that has been there to support the family.

Spent some time today at the rehabilitation hospital with Jackie and I cannot believe her progress. We did occupational therapy together and then ate lunch in her room. I am just dumbfounded at how far she has come in less than a month. She is stronger than I thought and even has the classic spunk we all love and hate !!! We love you Jack !!!   -Tim

Jackie is all moved into the rehabilitation clinic and will be there for up to 30 days for inpatient PT, OT, and speech therapy.  The girls and I hung out with her this afternoon and I brought her a TON of clothes ... I have no doubts that she will be walking through our front door and telling me to do something around the house before the end of month !!!!  I am one lucky S.O.B. !!!   -Tim

Jackie is being moved today to the rehab center down the street from the house and she will start her intensive speech, occupational, and physical therapy from up to one month. She will then come home and do outpatient care and be living back at the castle with us !!! She is truly being blessed and her situation is absolutely a miracle - even the doctors and nurses have to agree with the fact that we witnessed a muscle over the past three weeks. Thank you so much everyone for your thoughts and prayers ... They are working !!!   -Tim

So the meeting today with the girls and Jackie for the first time since the accident went better than a storybook would have had it play out. Jackie embraced Aubrey in her arms and kept asking for kisses and telling her she missed her ... She held Madison with her in her bed and continued to embrace her as well while mouthing "my baby" ... her facial expressions, purposeful gestures, and mouthed words showed us and the majority of the staff on her unit that she is progressing extremely well and remembers the family. She is an anomaly at the hospital and is proof that miracles do happen ... Thank you again everyone for all your support and prayers ... they are being answered !!    -Tim

So Jackie had been making miraculous progress ... She is able to mouth words to us now and told me today, "I love you" "Aubrey" (when she saw a video of her), and "Madison" (when she saw a video of her) ... Her physicians are blown away and we are not only joyous but impressed by how hard she has fought these past there weeks .... Keep up the great job Jackie !!!   -Tim

Hung out with both my beautiful sisters tonight at the hospital. Jackie Smith Petersstuck out her tongue when asked by the nurse, moved her head back and forth, and the best part was when she smiled at me!! She's so amazing... Everyday she makes more progress and gets stronger. The Smith sisters together for a night in!    -Jessica

She was really focused on watching and listening to videos of Aubrey and Madison on my phone. She looks right at me and she actually mouthed the words "I love you"...of course it made me cry...I was so happy! We are moving forward :) Please keep her in your prayers...     -Sandra

Tonight as i sit here with my beautiful wife i am thinking how nice of a feeling it is when someone holds you in as high of regard as you hold them ... My family continues to grow as so many of you extend your support for my Jackie Peters and force me to stay as strong as any one human being can. Some of you will never know how thankful I truly am for your kind words and heart filled thoughts and prayers for my family and I, simply because words cannot describe it. You will all continuously be on my mind and I would give anyone of you the shirt off my back if you needed it. Thanks for your continued support everyone, it will never go unappreciated ...     -Tim

So Jackie has been maintaining pretty well the past two days ... They are discussing the use of a shunt to help with drainage which can be taken out down the road if need be. If she needs it permanently though none of us would even be able to tell. She was very active last night and is pretty sleepy this morning watching Fox News with me just like when we are at the house :) I wanted to give a big thank you to Jackie's bosses and coworkers at Los Ninos Pediatric Hospital who have been great in every angle of support possible ... You folks are family and we appreciate the love !!!   -Tim

"Your sister has done a complete 180"…those the words the neurosurgeon told me today! He said at this point she should continue to improve though it may be a slow, long process (I will sign up for helping her through that process over and over again!). I am so happy to FINALLY be 99% sure she is here to stay and will have the quality of life we want for her.

She is off the ventilator and breathing on her own. Her eyes are wide open and she is looking all around the room. I was talking to her and she was staring right at me! It was the best feeling ;') I don't know if she knows everything that's going on but she does feel all the love, support and prayers surrounding her…that is for sure!

I will be excited to see her progress every day! What a roller coaster ride of emotions! The not knowing was inexplicably awful! Now that the surgeon has looked me in the eyes and said that her progress is amazing and he doesn't see how she could revert now…I am happy, excited, overwhelmed, etc!!! I just want to be there all the time so I don't miss anything!

I know I've said it a bunch, but thanks again to everyone for the support you have given my family and the prayers you have said for Jackie Smith Peters and Timothy Peters and of course the kids!!! There is no doubt in my mind that ALL OF THOSE PRAYERS were heard loud and clear!

Love to you all…

Jenn

Spending the night with Jackie ... She has downright astonished not only us but her doctors and surgeons. She is breathing on her own and very alert with us around ... She is squeezing our hands, blinking her eyes and wiggling her toes when asked ... Her progress is mind boggling and she is one hell of a strong woman (like we didn't know) ... We love you Jack !!    -Tim

So when I got to the hospital today Jackie had her eyes open and her glasses on. She was hanging out with her dad and was very alert ... She was able to blink her eyes on command, squeeze my hand on command, and also, when told to give a thumbs up she moved only her thumb ... They also had another CT scan for today and although we have not gotten the results back yet, the drainage from her head has gone very clear, which we think is good because she may not have much more blood in there to be drained !! keep up the hard work Jackie !!    -Tim

So since last night Jackie has been the most alert she has been since last Thursday night ... She has had her eyes open 3/4 of the way and is able to blink them on command ... She is also able to squeeze my hand slightly and wiggle her toes when asked with minimal delay.   All are very good and positive things and she is obviously tougher than we thought (if that is possible) ... Thanks again for all your support everyone !!!    -Tim

just got back from visiting my beautiful daughter, Jackie Smith Peters, at the hospital; I was so surprised and HAPPY when I saw her sitting there with her beautiful blue eyes open!! She kept them open for about an hour and a half and she is starting to follow commands such as closing her eyes and moving her extremities. She tires easily, which is to be expected but we are very encouraged by her progress. The doctors are amazed and cautioning us that she still has a very long way to go and that this cannot be rushed along. She is much more neurologically stable today than when she arrived at the hospital last week and they will continue to monitor her for complications but we are definitely optimistic. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful family supporting her throughout this ordeal. Her husband, Tim, is an amazing man and she is so lucky to have him by her side. Aubrey and Madison are doing well; missing mommy but surrounded by lots of love. We want to thank all of her wonderful friends; both here and far away for all of the love being sent her way and we are reading her all of the cards, letters and facebook postings. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers...    -Sandra

Waking up this morning we got the results of the CT scan back and everything looks appropriate ... they were concerned about an abscess because of her having the vent in for the last 10 days but everything looks to be fine ... this morning when respiratory therapy came in and nurses made shift change they begin to do their assessment of Jackie along with oral care ... she withdrew from the pain st...imulation which is a great sign and she also opened her eyes when the staff were messing with her to see what was going on.  I am very optimistic with the progress Jackie has been making but we still have a long road in front of us ... Thanks as usual everyone for your continued thoughts and prayers ... they're working !!    -Tim

She is heading down now to have a CT scan and we will know the results Monday for that ... Positive steps forward, one in front of another at this point is all we are focusing on ... Keep it up Jackie :)    -Tim

So while hanging out today at the hospital with Jackie, she decided that she was going to open her eyes for us ... She did have some minor movement and I can swear to God that she had some purposeful hand squeezes when directed to do so ... We are continuing to take baby steps and could not be happier with the progress that Jackie has made ... We still have an extremely long road in front of us but she has to be the strongest person that I know to try and fight through this ... We love you momma !!    -Tim

Spent the night with Jackie last night and finally fell asleep around 1:30 am ... at 2:30 am her nurse woke me up to show me that her eyes were opening ... Since then her eyes have been spontaneously moving and opening up ... We are yet to see anything purposeful (opening on command), but just the idea of her brain telling her to try and open her eyes is amazing ... Also, her pupils are starting to react to light. They are still pretty sluggish but it's better than being fixed ... Thanks for the thoughts and prayers everyone !!    -Tim

  1. Hanging with Jackie on this beautiful Phoenix night ... We have not seen any change since yesterday, however they did start a feeding tube and she is tolerating it at this time. At least she will be getting her vitamins and minerals to help her body work in a positive manner. Also, her mom did her hair in braids today and she looks GORGEOUS !! Everyone has been so remarkable with their support and I love every one of you for showing my family so much love, regardless of where our paths have taken us all. You guys don't know how much it means to Jackie, the girls, and especially myself in such a trying situation   -Tim

  1. Quick message - at the request of her nuero surgeon and myself I asking that friends do not visit the hospital moving forward, until she is at least out of ICU (couple weeks) ... We want to limit the crowds and stimulation at this time ... What I would really like is for friends and family to write Jackie letters and send me pictures if yourselves so I can read them to her and hang the photos in h...er room. She will then be able to see these things and what she missed when she recovers (God willing) ... I will post our address on her page and look forward to getting letters :) Thanks again everyone ... We love you and all your support in this unexpected turn in our lives !!      -Tim

  1. Hi everyone ... I just wanted to let everyone know what is going on with Jackie. Friday morning around 3 am, she was flown into a neurology unit here in Phoenix and underwent brain surgery for two aneurysms and an AVM (arterial ventricular malformation), one of which was bleeding into her brain. She is currently in ICU and we are now in for the long road to recovery .... We are staying very optimistic and ask that everyone keep her in your thoughts and prayers ... We will keep everyone updated as we learn more ourselves   -Tim
