Jake Sanders's Fight Against Cancer

As most are aware, the journey Jake Sanders is on is a long and hard one. He has been fighting so hard and still keeps spreading that SUNSHINE! Cancer is a formidable opponent, but he is determined to WIN this war and we are ALL behind him, wrapping Jake and Debi in prayers, love, and positivity!
After months of treatment in Salt Lake City and multiple treatments that look promising but ultimately didn’t work, Jake was sent home as SLC was out of ideas & options. Debi continued to search for more options and through some friends discovered MD Anderson in Houston. In desperation, she and Jake hopped a plane and headed there hoping to get admitted. Thankfully, they agreed to treat Jake, but there were complications with insurance and Jake had to become a resident of Texas in order to continue treatment there.
Jake has been at MD Anderson for several months now and living at the Ronald McDonald House and the hospital. They applied to get into the House of Hope, a home away from home dedicated to teens and their families. Only 4 families live there and they all are fighting cancer. They were accepted and will be moving in in the next month.
Jake started what we call “Big Blue” Chemo and the doctors were optimistic that it was working. However, this last month he got an infection and was admitted back to inpatient. He has been inpatient for over 3 weeks and was just released to outpatient with daily trips to the Hospital. This week he went in for tests and a PET scan. Unfortunately, the doctors determined the tumor is VERY aggressive and has doubled in size. This sent everyone scrambling to find a new course of treatment. Jake has been accepted into another alternative treatment but it is NOT covered by insurance and a 19 day supply costs over $20,000.
