As you may or may not know, Firefighters responded yesterday to a house fire along the 100 block of Sklar Street in the Avendale Village.

The Carlson Family lost everything, including their two kitties.  There is so much we can do to help them in their time of greatest need.

The family  believe their two cats may have escaped the blaze. Below is a very general description of both cats.

Cat #1
- Mixed breed
- Dark, tiger stripe
- Raccoon like tail

Cat #2
- Siamese cat
- Dark brown and light beige in color
- Blue eyes, white wiskers

Christy Carlson and I have been talking daily. Between all the monetary donations, the gift cards, the clothes, the kitchen items, the food, etc.,she said this community and outreach of friends and friends of friends is the only thing that is getting them by.  She sends warmest wishes and thank you's from the bottom of her heart.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I have to say that I personally will never be leaving Ladera Ranch. Of all the places I have lived, I have never seen a community come together like this one!  Although this is a horrible tragedy for the Carlson's, it has also been a blessing. Blessings for new friends and the joy of seeing how truly giving and supportive human beings can be!  I am so happy to be a part of rebuilding their lives.
